Bill validators are very tricky to fix on your own. I almost always send my malfunctioning vending bill validators in to be repaired. Most of the time, the only problems that bill validators will have is poor acceptance. Poor acceptance can be caused by numerous things, and is almost never an obvious problem. It is a good idea to always have an extra (functioning) bill validator on hand to swap out while you have the other fixed.
